Great Country Farm = Great Fun!!

Today was an unbelievable summer day! We woke up the heat wave had broken and gone was the humidity. I decided to take advantage of the perfect weather and take the kids about 20 minutes west of here to Great Country Farm. We had gone a couple of times last year but Brennie was still little and MG was a little more cautious. This was our first trip out to the farm this year and it was an absolute blast!!!
The kids both loved all of the animals, Madison said her favorites were the bunnies and the kitty and Brennie especially liked the cows. We also saw goats, pigs, mini horses, donkeys, chickens, peacocks, and some sheep. I think that covers it. What is great about the farm is that they also have slides, a jumping pillow, and other fun things for the kids to do and play on.
Brendan made fast friends with one of the barn kittens. The little guy just climbed right up for a visit. Don't worry B was not trying to bite the kitty but give him a kiss. I am NOT raising the next Ozzy Ozborne!
They also do u pick at the farm. Blackberries and peaches are in season right now, but we had to get going home for some lunch and naps. Kettle corn made the trip home just right! YUMMMM!
It was just the perfect morning.
Thanks for looking .

Photos by MG

Here are some pictures that Madison took with my camera the other day. She absolutely loves to takes pictures. We are working on keeping our finger out of the pic. The pictures are cloudy because grubby fingers(Brendan) got a hold of the camera first. :) I think santa will have to get my budding photographer a camera for xmas. We have spotted them at Target for kids. :)

Pure and Simple

This morning we did our favorite activity and went to a park before the day got to hot. I snapped these shots of the kids being especially sweet.

Camp Days

The first pic is of MG in her official camp t-shirt. Yes that is quite a face she is making. The next are of her in the pool at camp. Now you know why it was so much fun!!

Off to Camp

The last week in June Madison started a 2 week, half day camp at the local rec center. Of course I cried on the first day and I cried on the last day. I can remember vividly walking past all of the campers when we would go to the rec center to work out and how MG would look at them longingly and how it seemed like forever until she would be able to go. Well, here we are and she is off to camp. She didn't miss a beat and just marched in and had a blast. I am so proud of her that she will just go anywhere and do anything without hesitation. She is a very confident little girl and I would like to think I have had something to do with that. :)

The things we do.......

I would never in a million years have pictured my own father like this, but some how when you are a grandpa it is just easy to be silly. These are the things that we do for our grandkids and only our grandkids. After my brother left my mom and dad arrived for a visit. These are always special times. It was super hot so everyone enjoyed a "dip" in the pool.

Visit from Uncle JOE

Hi Everyone,
Sorry, it has been so long sense I have posted. We have been very busy and as you will be able to tell by all the pictures we have been having lots of fun. I will keep the commentary short so I can get this updated before the kids are done with there 2nd show of the morning. (2 1/2 hr shows is our limit for the morning)
So, in mid June my brother Joe and Andrea came for a visit and a baseball game. The kids had a fun time with Uncle Joe and were happy to volunteer to "help" wash the car.
