Spring at last!

The winter is a tough time for the stay at home mom. Too cold to go out much and really how many times can you go to the germ pit at the mall.

But once the sun starts shinning and the layers can be shed all is right with the world again. It is an instant mood lifter for us to get out side and to just play! The kids get dirty and we all have fun. I think you can see it in their smiles. I hope that the nice weather finally sticks. Because as much as the winter months are hard, there is not much better then being a stay at home mommy when it is nice and you can watch the pure joy of your kids playing outside like kids should.

Ballerina Girl

Could someone please tell me when my little baby girl got so big? I swear it was just yesterday that we were going to mommy and me classes together and now I just drop her off at ballet class and wait outside. Ok, so I don't just wait outside, I take pictures like a mad women, but come on how could I resist, she is so stinkin cute!!!

So Saturday Madison went to her first ballet class. She was so excited she woke up at 6:00 am and stripped out of her jammies so she could put on her ballet outfit. MG and I went over the usual rule, be a good listener and pay attention to your teacher. "yes, mommy and say excuse me if I want to talk" Good, I think she's got it. Well, of course Madison dives right in. Not a bit hesitant or shy, and of course is the only one who can NOT stop talking. Questions and commentary are just flowing. At one point we all think she is going to try and teach the class as she tries to show everyone the butterfly stretch and get the others to do it too. She was so cute it nearly brought me to tears. I love that little girl with all my heart. We will however have to review that being a good listener means not talking. :)

Easter Fun

First just let me say that we are a very lucky and blessed family. We are healthy and happy and have wonderful friends and family. We spent the morning hunting eggs, eating chocolate, dashing to church (as usual barley made it on time) and then hanging out with great friends. Bubba loves chocolate, I hope you can see the string of chocolate spittle running out of his mouth. He was very happy to let his sister find the eggs and then help her eat the candy. He had a great time with our friends and especially enjoyed the cake, and whatever anyone else left laying around. As far as he is concerened if it is at his level it is fair game and part of the buffet. For anyone who doesn't know if you click on the pics they will zoom to full screen.

Enjoy

Girls Trip to Michigan

Hi everyone,

This past weekend MG and I went to Michigan to visit grandma and grandpa while Brendan and Daddy stayed home. As you can see we enjoyed a beautiful spring weekend in MI with really great weather. The first pic MG is on the plane, she did great both ways and was happy to just have some quality story time. When we got there it was a wonderful warm day so we went to a park after lunch. Grandpa joined Madison on the slide and Grandma could almost get Madison high enough on the swing. We colored Easter eggs on Saturday, with a princess die kit of course, nothing like some jeweled eggs. Sunday we went shopping in Northville which has an old town feel to it with lots of nice shops. While we were out we stumbled on to a super playground that Madison loved, until she got a huge sliver in her hand and mommy had to perform surgery. We all survived and a lollipop and turn on the swing and the boo boo was almost forgotten. As you can see Madison still loves to pose for the camera. Also, please notice in the last pics the beautiful dress that grandma made for MG, which she had to wear every day for at least part of the day. Thanks grandma. We had a great time with everything. I did get to come home to my sweet little boy with a new scrape on his chin. I guess that's what you get when you leave daddy in charge. :) I will post a pic of my wounded son later.
